Fear Of Losing Your Tool

Perhaps you fear losing smoking as your “tool” or “crutch” that you use to deal with stressful situations. Let me show you why this is an illusion and you don’t need it.
Maybe you have smoked when you are feeling low, when you receive some bad news - and you are worried that after you have stopped, you may start smoking again.
Let me tell you now that this won’t happen. Here’s why.
Your addiction is only fooling you into thinking that smoking is a useful tool. It isn’t and you won’t need it afterwards. You won’t even feel like ever having a cigarette again because you know that it was only addiction or the Nicodemon playing tricks on your mind into thinking that you needed it. Put it this way - when you were a non-smoker, did you feel an almighty desire for a cigarette or a shot of heroin whenever you received any bad news?
Also, I don’t normally share my personal life with strangers but I will share this with you. My father recently passed away which was the worst thing that ever happened to me. Did I reach for a cigarette? Not at all. In fact, it did not even enter my mind to think of having a cigarette. I hope that this event that happened to me is significant enough for you to believe and have faith in me when I say that you will no longer need cigarettes as a “tool”.
After you have stopped smoking, like me, when you get any bad news then you will not even think about reaching for a cigarette. It would seem an “alien” response to you. You can look forward to a future where, unlike most of the population, you do not need a tool like a cigarette, a huge meal, a bottle of whisky or anything else to deal with bad news.
